On Tuesday night, I had one giddy husband. The snow was coming down, and looked so beautiful! I swear we just sat on our bed watching the snow fall for at least a half an hour, just watching. The boys were already in bed, so we enjoyed it in peace! When the boys woke up, I told Jacob to go look out the window and he said, "Mom! It's finally Christmas!" Silly boy... I was babysitting that day, so we waited until we had a break and I took the boys outside to play. Jacob and Ian thought it was so awesome that they could make their own "tracks" in the snow. I love the pure joy that they bring with such simple little things in life!

| Ian, checking out his footprints in the snow. |
| Ian loved the snow, but wasn't too excited about me trying to take a billion pictures of him. |
| The neighbor boy came over to play with Jacob, and they were having a snowball fight. No matter how hard or where Jacob got hit by a snowball, he laughed so hard! This shot was so lucky, I just pointed and shot this picture of him, he was laughing so hard he almost couldn't stand any longer. |
| Once Ian figured out that he could see his own breath, he had a much better time outside. He wasn't too fond of the cold outside. |
| Ian was ready to go in, he was too cold for this. I had to bribe Jacob to get him in. Now the snow is completely gone, and we've had so much rain! Parts of Portland were flooded today with over a foot of rain. Our back yard is flooded, but we're glad we had this day, even though it didn't last very long! |

We ended up with a foot of snow... followed by freezing rain. The trees are beautiful: all encased in ice. Unfortunately, the weight of the ice is downing trees all over Olympia, so now most of us are without power (yeah for a job at the Capitol where we have massive generators and internet!!). We lost power around 7:30 last night and it's still not back on. I'm very grateful to my adopted Grandma Pearl for making so many "ugly" patchwork quilts 30 years ago. They kept my family and some of my coworkers warm last night. We had a full house!
