Christmas and New Years in Moses Lake

On Monday we headed to Moses Lake to spend time with our family. The morning of leaving we got a phone call from my mom that they had been up with the stomach flu! We were planning on staying with them, but thankfully they told us ahead of time and we were able to stay at Cathie and Jake's house for a couple of days while the flu went away at my mom and dad's house. The night we got there, we were blessed to be with family! We had a dinner and visit with Jon's aunt Shari and her children, Thad and Becki, Emily, and Annie, Cathie, Jake, and Jace, and Grandma and Grandpa Duvall. We had a great evening, and I have been trying to get this four generation picture for so long and we finally got one with Ian and grandma included! Since grandma has been living in an assisted living home, we haven't had as many chances of seeing her or taking pictures with her, so I jumped on the opportunity and I'm so glad I did.
After a couple of days, we finally went back to my mom and dad's house and visited with Jon, Traci, Carter, and Xander as well. It's so fun to go back and see family! Jon and Traci had a four wheeler and I totally had so much fun riding! We found out that some other family from Jon's side had the stomach flu as well... so two nights before New Year's Eve... I was up from 11-4 am with Ian... holding him over a bucket while he puked his guts out. Every time I would try and move him into the travel crib... he would puke again, so I finally left him on the couch, with my leg blocking the side so he wouldn't fall, and sitting up. Needless to say, I didn't get any sleep that night, but Ian finally did! It made all the difference, he was feeling great the next day, but I wasn't. Finally that night, Jon and I both had it, but for only one throw up. We decided to head home early and not hang out at Cathie and Jake's- our traditional New Year's Eve celebration. On the way home, after about an hour and a half, Jacob started to throw up. Thankfully I was more prepared this time and had several gallon size ziploc bags for him to use and after the first one there wasn't hardley any mess. The first one though- made some major distance, hitting Jon in the back of the neck!! Jacob finally started to smile when we got into Washougal, because there were fireworks going off everywhere!! We made it home about 10 minutes after midnight. Jacob felt a ton better, I gave him a bath, and the boys both went to bed without a fuss. It was a crazy night, but thankfully it was only a couple hours for each boy and not several days. We're happy to be home, but always miss family!
