For Jon's birthday this year, we went camping at Tillicum camp site. It was waaaaaay out in the middle of the wilderness. In between Mt. St. Helen's and Mt. Adams. It was so beautiful and serene. Just what we needed. Unfortunately, my lack of camping skills shown brighter than ever. I forgot utensils, almost cried when I had to go to the bathroom without a toilet, and apparently was making the boys wash their hands way too often (according to Jon). Nonetheless, I can't wait to go back again!

| Our campsite! |
| I love seeing Jon in his element. Not only was he the master of setting up for camping, he was an awesome fire starter! |
| The boys could not get enough of the trees, rocks, sticks (AKA swords and guns)! |
| Ian loved cooking over the fire! |
| ANNNND loved eating stuff made from the fire as well. |
| The boys found a big dead tree... that needed to be thrown in the fire apparently... It made gigantic flames and made ashes fly all over the place. |
| Jon's making breakfast on his new stove he got for his birthday. |
| Jon also showed us all how to boil eggs in the fire. They were delicious! |
| Of course we had to make a cake for dad's birthday! Ian was my main man in the "kitchen"- always willing to take a tester taste. |
| Waiting for the cake to cook in the fire. I brought a bread pan and lots of foil and we put it in the fire with our tin foil dinners. |
| Happy 30th babe! |
| Notice the lack of utensils.... |
| It's ok, we didn't mind improvising... at least I remembered the whip cream. |
| Mt. Adams! |
| At the Mt. St. Helen's visitors center. The ranger guide was giving a speech about when Mt. St. Helen's blew. In the middle of this speech, a bird flew right smack into those glass windows behind us. It was pretty traumatizing for some people! No one laughed! It was a little crazy. Lots of amazing memories on this trip! So glad we were able to go together. |

Wow! You are braver than I am! I won't camp unless there are flushies (not even a sani hut is enough for me!!).
But, I do go camping once or twice a year, so if you'd like to know what I keep in my Camping Kitchen, I'd be happy to give you a list. It makes camping so much easier!
