Two Extremes

Yesterday, I had to take the dreaded trip to Wal-Mart. While I was there... Jacob threw is first in store fit. WOW. I found some of those really long women's bead necklaces and went to put them back.... while I faced a child gripping the cart with all his strength, red in the face, screaming at the top of his lungs for these beads... and, I don't even want to know what Jon is thinking when he reads this. I gave in. I said I was NEVER going to do this... and I gave in. I bought the beads (6 bucks for two) and here he is this morning. Happy as a clam with his bead necklaces.

I've been contemplating what to blog about lately, because it's been a while and we've been so busy, just not really blog worthy busy. This morning, my mom gave Jacob the container that the swiffer wipes come in to put his toys in. All of a sudden Jacob took the lid off and this is what happened.

Then, he started chasing Jon (my brother) around the house with it stuck to his face like this. Wow... I haven't laughed this hard in a long long time. I sure love this little man.

so I totally forgot your blog was private and remembered today and saw all the posts i've missed!! jacob is getting so big! That's too funny about that clear lid and the faces! Ashlyn did that on our sliding door at that age! And the temper tantrums in the store... get used to it. Ashlyn STILL does that.. and it drives me crazy.. except i've learned that giving in just makes it worse because they know the tantrum did its job! It took me a while tho because giving them whatever it is to make them happy is so much easier than dealing with a tantrum!

Yeah, I know. I kicked myself for giving into it, but it was mostly my fault for attempting to take him to Wal-Mart at 5:30 PM when he was hungry and tired. So, I've learned my lesson! Yikes.

And so sorry about the tantrum. We've all been there. It's hard. Good luck next time! :)
