Every night this week, Ian has fallen asleep on my mom's lap. Now... I never fully realized the power of a grandma's hold until this week. At home... I have to rock... and rock... and sing... and rock Ian in order to get him to sleep at night. You know what my mom does to get him to sleep? She sits on the couch with him on his lap, and that's it. He just sits there! Whenever I hold him on my lap he ROCKS as hard as he can over and over and over again. But when he sits on my mom's lap, it's like he immediately knows that it's bed time. So he relaxes, and falls right asleep. Ian is going to be so sad to have me put him to sleep when we go home.
