The Happiest 5K On The Planet!

The day started pretty early in the morning. I woke up around 5:30 to get ready to leave at 6:30 AM! We wanted to take the MAX (Portland's public train) so that we didn't have to worry about all the parking at the Portland International Raceway where The Color Run was taking place. This is a picture of me and my two friends, Debbie and Adele!

I was so nervous to take the MAX! I've never taken public transportation, and the MAX was so big and I was afraid we were going to miss our stop!

We got on! I had the jitters from right when I woke up that morning. My entire body was shaking with excitement!! We had been pumped to do this 5K when we could finally sign up in April.

Adele and her husband Paul

My friend Jana and I! She is my running/jogging/marathon inspiration! She is amazing.

Our group at the starting line!!!

There were 16,000 people at The Color Run in Portland this year! This is the first year they've held it in Portland. We missed a MAX train at one of our stops because it was PACKED with Color Runners!!

Adele and I dominated that run! We didn't stop once! I was so proud of us I almost cried at the end, but instead I grabbed Adele and hugged her!

We were a sweaty mess, BUT we did amazing and didn't stop. I'm so proud of us!! I'm proud of that sweat dripping all over my body, and the colorful armpit stains that came with it! At every kilometer- a powder paint made out of corstarch and dye was thrown at us. We had different colors at every stop.

The final paint throw! We all had our own little packets of paint to throw at the end. And seriously... everyone was wearing tu-tu's. It was the "Thing" this year I guess.

Can't wait for next year!!!
