Oh, how blessed we are!

Jon, Jacob, (jingle hymer schmidt) and I have been in Montana for four months. Four months... hm... it feels like 2 years! haha! We've gone through so many things and so many things have turned into blessings. Not only have we learned to rely on each other and to appreciate one another, but we've been able to have the opportunity to expand our family.
When Jon and I got our new callings in the ward and were getting set apart, one of the things the counselor said was, "You will know that you are here for more than just your job." We know there is a reason why we are here... in this cold... cold area (which actually has been nothing compared to past years) and we've only tasted a part of that. We've done many things as a family that we might not have done just the three and a half of us living where we were. We have been able to appreciate some really beautiful surroundings that our Heavenly Father has given to us to enjoy, been able to rely on one another for support and love, and laughed until tears have come to our eyes. We've also cried... not from laughing, and I've shed many tears, missing family and friends, but have gotton the opportunity to meet some really great people here.
I'm still in transition, and I'm sure it will take me a little while, but we have met some great people and learned so much already. I'm just ashamed that it has taken me this long (six years in September) to learn and really appreciate all that my husband does for our family, and the closeness I've been missing out on. Here's to the next eternity of years, to get to know, appreciate and grow along side with him!

Well said Amy. It sounds to me like you have the right attitude about it all! Thanks for your example

What a blessing to realize that! Moving away from family is hard (for some... easier for others of us, hehehe!), but it really does make you draw closer as a family.

A beautiful posting Amy. You are missed here in Moses Lake, but wherever you are you will be a great influence on the lives of many. You have a natural ability to be friendly and caring about others. You are full of life, happy and just an absolute sweetheart. This is your little corner of the earth right now and I know you will bloom and be just as beautiful as you were here. Congratulations on the wonderful news about having a baby in August. You are so blessed. Hugs

I know how you feel about not having family around...try living in washington and having family in Arizona...now that's hard. It's good to get on your own too. Good luck with it all. Hope you guys like it there.
