First Hair Cut

The runny nose gives the picture a good touch huh?

Jacob has been needing a little hair snip on the sides for over a month now, and finally, I chopped them off. You can't really tell the difference, unless you see a picture of his hair flipping out on the sides. I left his curly hair in the back, because I couldn't let myself cut it, so he'll probably get a mullet. And... that's ok right? Because this will probably (hopefully) be the only time in his life where he will have one! He was really good sitting there, Jon entertained him, while I cut, until he moved really fast to look at me while I was cutting, and I stabbed him in the head with the scissors. No blood, thank goodness, I felt bad enough without having to look at blood coming from his head. Phew!

This is all from one side. One solid chop! It was so thick! His hair was a lot thinner on the other side because he always slept on his one side, never on his back, now he sleeps on his stomach every night. I got this idea from my sister in law (thanks Dakota!) about preserving his first hair cut, I just stuck it between a piece of packaging tape and voila!

I wish I could see how John was entertaining him, I bet THAT would be entertaining! Hey good job giving a hair cut! The thought makes me cringe, not that I'll have to do it any year soon!

It looks like he was holding so still for you! Not that I would know, but I hear that kids that age who will sit still during a haircut are very hard to come across.
